Why the library exists

A submittal package depends on the documents in it. When you're putting one together, you have to find the right cut sheet and the right safety data sheet for the product the spec book named, at the revision the project is being built to. That means hunting across manufacturer websites, distributor portals and whatever a supplier emailed you last year.

SubPro indexes these documents so you can find them with a search. Every document links back to its source and keeps its manufacturer's name on it. Nothing here replaces the manufacturer's own published literature, so check a document from this library against the manufacturer's current release before it goes into a submittal.

What we do and don't do

We don't change documents

We index a document exactly the way the manufacturer published it. We don't edit it, retype it or take the branding off it.

We don't claim we wrote them

A manufacturer's literature is shown as theirs. Their name stays on it, and we link to the page where they published it.

We don't train on them

We index these documents so people can find them. They aren't training data for any model.

Each document shows its review status

Each document is marked approved when a person at SubPro checked it, reviewed when SubPro's automated reviewer passed it, or needs review when neither has happened yet.

What we will not sell

Manufacturers can pay for featured placement in the library index, and every featured entry is labeled that way. Payment affects placement and nothing else. It does not change which documents are indexed, what a search returns, or what appears on any contractor's submittal log. A submittal log is built from what a project specification requires, and no commercial arrangement reaches it.

This matters for both sides. If the library ranked documents by who paid, it would just be a catalog of ads, and nobody putting a submittal package together on a deadline would come back to it. Keeping that line protects a paying manufacturer's placement as much as it protects the person searching.

Buy links on product pages

Some product pages have a button to buy the product or find it at a retailer like Amazon. Those are affiliate links, so SubPro earns a small commission if you buy through one. The links don't change which documents are indexed, what a search returns, or what goes on anyone's submittal log.

We also have nothing to sell about who is specifying what. The spec book you upload is deleted when processing finishes. If a cloud job fails, we hold it for 7 days to find out why the job failed, and then we delete it. Spec books are never used for marketing, training or examples. We don't have a dataset like that and we don't plan to build one. See data handling for the full commitment, or partners for what a partnership does cover.

Getting a document corrected or removed

Write to support@sub-pro-ai.com. Tell us the product and the document and we'll take care of it. That covers an old revision that should be replaced, a document attached to the wrong product, a document you'd rather we didn't carry at all, and a manufacturer page with the wrong website on it.

The privacy policy covers how requests are handled and how long we keep them. If you'd rather talk it through, write to the same address and a person will get back to you.
