From the librarySix first pages, six manufacturers
Six first pages of manufacturer literature laid out on a sand background: a Benjamin Moore paint data sheet, a Leviton surge protector specification, a Tnemec zinc primer data sheet, a Carlisle roofing adhesive sheet, a Sherwin-Williams safety data sheet, and a Sika waterstop brochure cover

How the library is organized

Three ways in, and they meet at the same document record.

By manufacturer

The directory lists every manufacturer with documents on file, with product and document counts. Open one for its products grouped by CSI section.

Open the directory

By CSI section

Type a section number into the search, 08 31 13 or 09 91 00, and the results narrow to products filed under it. Each manufacturer page groups its products the same way.

By document type

Filter results to product data, SDS, shop drawings, certifications, or warranties. A product with nothing on file says so instead of hiding.

Three document typesProduct data, safety data sheet, warranty
Three first pages side by side: a Leviton product specification sheet, a Sherwin-Williams safety data sheet with its hazard pictograms, and an Armstrong thirty-year ceiling systems warranty

What a document record carries

Enough to cite it, size it, and trace it back.

  • The product it belongs to, its model number, and its CSI section.
  • The document type, file format, file size, and page count where recorded.
  • The manufacturer's original filename, kept on download.
  • The date it was added to the library and a link to the manufacturer's official site.
  • A preview in the browser before the download, so the wrong file never lands in a submittal package.

Manufacturer documents remain the property of the companies that publish them. The document rights page explains how the library treats them.

How a document gets here

  1. The manufacturer publishes itData sheets, safety data sheets, and instructions come from the manufacturer's own site or literature, never retyped.
  2. It is filed under the productEach document lands on one product record with its manufacturer, model, and CSI section, so a search by any of the three finds it.
  3. It is reviewed before it is listedA manufacturer appears in the directory only once it holds at least one reviewed document. Products with nothing on file stay visible and say so.
  4. It keeps its sourceThe record carries the official site and the original filename, so the document can be checked against the current version any time.
